數學與計算科學學院位于中山大學南校區，前身是始創于1924年的中山大學數學系。目前，學院下設兩個系（數學系、統計科學系）和五個研究機構（計算科學實驗室、數學研究所、計算科學與計算機應用研究所、復雜系統研究中心、華南統計科學研究中心），擁有數學、統計學兩個一級學科并形成了具有鮮明特色的優勢學術領域。學院現擁有一批教育部“長江學者”特聘教授、國家杰出青年基金獲得者等在國內外有一定影響力的教授和學者。
