The Liberal Arts Program at UM-SJTU JI (Shanghai, PR China) invites applications for full-time lecturer positions in Academic Writing and Liberal Arts. 中國上海交大密西根學院人文社科項目現開放對于學術寫作和人文教育領域全職講師職位的申請。 The UM-SJTU JI is an English-based higher education institute founded in 2006, in a collaboration between the University of Michigan and Shanghai Jiaotong University. It currently offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in mechanical engineering and in electrical and computer engineering based on University of Michigan's curricula. The students, both Chinese and international, begin in Shanghai and can then go on to study at Michigan. 交大密西根學院（UM-SJTU JI）于2006年成立，是由美國密歇根安娜堡大學和上海交通大學合作成立的一個全英語教學的高等教育學院。目前學院基于密歇根大學的課程，提供機械工程和電氣和計算機工程專業的本科和研究生學位。中國學生及國際學生可以先在上海學習，之后在密歇根州繼續深造。 The Liberal Arts Program is responsible for offering courses aimed at enhancing students’ academic writing and critical thinking skills in an English-language environment as well as providing broader education in humanities and social sciences. 人文社科項目旨在開設能使學生們在全英語環境提高學術寫作和批判性思維能力，并在人文和社會科學領域接受更廣泛教育的課程。 With the fast expansion of the school in recent years, we are currently looking for full-time lecturers to teach courses in academic writing as well as in humanities and social sciences to strengthen existing programs and to expand the breadth of liberal arts education. 隨著學院近年來的快速發展，我們正在尋找在學術寫作以及人文和社會科學領域的全職教師，來支持學院現有的項目，并進一步擴大人文教育的廣度。

Responsibilities ?Deliver up to six classes per academic year, each class typically requires 3 to 4 lecture-hours and 2 office hours per week for a 15-week semester ?Prepare and conduct classes, design homework and supervise examinations ?Guide TAs for recitation classes and grading ?Maintain a course website containing teaching materials and information 職責 1.每學年規定的授課量為6門課程，15周的學期中，每門課程基本需要每周3到4小時的授課時間及2小時的辦公室答疑時間。 2.根據指定教學大綱備課、授課，布置作業并監考。 3.指導助教開設助教課，以及作業的批改。 4.維護課程網頁，該網頁中應包括所有教學資料及相關信息。

Successful candidates are expected to teach both writing courses and humanities or social science courses but actual ratio between these two courses is negotiable in consideration of the candidate's background and interest. While the area of specialization is open, expertise in technical communication and in specific disciplines not currently represented - such as economics, history, sociology, anthropology, and psychology - is particularly desirable.
