Job background/context

Strategic philanthropy and community investment is in an integral part of Citi’s citizenship work, and enhances Citi's image and reputation and creates a positive environment with key stakeholders

Citi’s citizenship activities focus on Enterprise Development; Financial Capability and Asset Building; Microfinance and Youth Education and Livelihoods

The incumbent will help to effectively manage Citi China’s citizenship investments and volunteering programs across China

This position will report to the Citi China Corporate Citizenship Director and Citi China Corporate Affairs Director

Job Description

Create and develop innovative and sustainable Citi Citizenship programs that are aligned with the government’s priorities, Citi’s business development strategy and Citi foundation’s global priorities

Submit high quality grant requests in a timely manner, reviewing and tracking all grant submissions, and record keeping

Monitor and follow up the implementation of Citi’s Citizenship programs with Citi’s high ethical standards. Collate and promote best practices related to citizenship programs evaluation/impact assessment

Build relationships with current citizenship partners, and proactively identify and establish relationships with potential community partners

Develop regular and effective external and internal communications that increase the transparency/visibility of Citi citizenship activities among key stakeholders in China, by closely working with other colleagues in Corporate Affairs

Coordinate strategic employee volunteering initiatives, including acting as country coordinator of Citi Global Community Day event

Manage China’s charitable contributions policy and procedures, track all business donations, and manage the audit process as required

Represent Citi at relevant forums, meetings, and events

Key Requirements

Passionate about citizenship work and willing to contribute proactively and creatively to the ongoing development of Citi’s Citizenship activities

Previous experience in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)/Citizenship/community development/nonprofit sector/PR preferred

Excellent process management/organizational skills including time management and attention to detail

A selfstarter, able to followthrough with minimal supervision, effective execution

Excellent bilingual skills in written and spoken communication for various stakeholders and strong in research and analysis in the field of CSR/Citizenship

A team player, ability to manage multiple projects

Have well developed interpersonal skills, appropriate for productive interactions with a variety of stakeholders and audiences

Ability to work under pressure, deal with ambiguity, and thrive on new challenges

Experience in the financial services industry and the fields of financial education, microfinance, and/or environmental sustainability will be a distinct advantage

Willingness and flexibility to travel
